Most digital cameras capture images in color, but sometimes we want to eliminate that color and create images with strong monochromatic impact. While you could simply set your camera to Monochrome mode, you can get far more control by processing your color images yourself and converting them to black and white. By starting from a color image, you gain tremendous flexibility in how the final image looks, because you can make tonal adjustments based on the colors in the original image.

Live Zoom Class: Mastering Monochrome

Join me online Thursday, May 29th from 7-8:30pm US Eastern Time, where I’ll teach you my secrets for processing black and white images. I’ll start by showing you how to adjust color images for optimal black and white photos, then go into the use of using color sliders to adjust tones. From there, we’ll take a look at the advanced tools for black and white conversion using Nik Silver Efex, my favorite monochrome conversion tool.

This is a live Zoom class, and all registered participants will be able to ask questions. Afterwards, you’ll receive a video download of the class so you can watch it again offline. Paid subscribers get a 10% discount on the class registration!
