Happy Friday, everyone!
This week I took a short trip to Santa Fe, NM this week for a little getaway. I brought the OM System OM-3 camera and a pair of prime lenses because I really didn’t want the burden of a larger kit. Driving around, we stopped at Camel Rock. It’s on private land; part of the Tesuque Pueblo, and it’s completely fenced off other than one side with a low wall. So that’s where I photographed it from. It was the middle of the day, and just for fun I decided to use some of the “Art” filters on the OM-3.
Most cameras offer creative looks/styles/controls, but they are buried in the menus. On the OM-3, you can instantly pull up color, B&W, or the art filters using a conveniently placed front knob. When you use these modes, the camera will always produce a JPEG, but you can set the camera to simultaneously record the raw image (that’s what I do). The raw file will not have the filter effects applied to it*, so you can edit that one however you’d like. But today, just for fun, I’m sharing the JPEG, with it’s wild “vintage” effect applied.
